Questions about booking

Do I book on Basecamping?

No. Basecamping shows options from many providers. When you're ready, you book with the provider itself (the campground, park system, rental owner or tour operator). Prices and availability are confirmed on their site.

How does the comparison work?

We read listings, rates and, where providers share it, availability for your dates from each provider, and show them side by side. A "from" price is the lowest listed rate; your total depends on the site, dates and the provider's fees.

Do I need an account to save things?

No. The bookmark on any card saves it to My trips on this device right away, with no sign-up. Saving doesn't reserve anything.

Can I get an alert when a full campground opens up?

Availability alerts aren't switched on yet. For now, save the campground to your trip and check back, or try nearby campgrounds with openings.
