Goat Walkabouts Herding in the Catskills

About this activity

Step back in time and embrace an ancient agricultural tradition with a hands-on goat herding experience in Hobart. Step into the role of a shepherd for a few hours, traveling alongside a lively herd of cashmere goats as they explore 30 acres of pristine meadows, woodlands, and creeks. Listen to the gentle jingle of their bells and learn their language while gaining a deeper appreciation for sustainable farming and land stewardship. This unique outdoor activity offers a rare opportunity to connect with nature, engage with charming farm animals, and experience the rhythm of the countryside.

Meeting point

Everyone meets at the meeting point.

End point: I will wait for you on the porch of the big white farmhouse, across the road from the mailbox marked 941. There is a GoatWalkabout sign by the road. Navigators sometimes send people to my neighbors which is inconvenient.
