We were charged $125 for an early pickup even though they didn’t actually show up early. In fact, the guy made us wait over an hour, then casually admitted he messed up. His apology? Four busted, sad folding chairs that looked like they’d been rescued from a curb on trash day, and three mismatched bags of linen that looked like they were pulled straight from a bin behind a thrift store. And if we wanted to use those dirty linens, we were required to return them washed and folded or face an extra charge. So basically, we were expected to do his laundry in exchange for his own mistake. All the seats were ripped up and torn, which he blamed on a previous renter who brought a cat. Not sure how that excuses the rest of the grime, but sure. We were also warned not to use the awning because it “breaks easily and isn’t reliable.” So just don’t use the amenities you paid for. Got it. And then came the sewage fiasco. He told us the black and grey water tanks were already emptied. To prove it, he opened the tank and got literal feces all over himself because, surprise, it had not been emptied. Rather than take care of it, he rushed off to a doctor’s appointment and passed the problem off to his coworker. Eventually we made it to the dump station, and instead of his coworker handling it, I ended up elbow-deep in a mess of someone else’s feces. So not only did we receive the RV full of someone else’s waste, I got to empty it, twice. Once before we could even use it, and again before we returned it. We rented this RV for a fun camping trip with friends we hadn’t seen in a long time. They got their own RV from a different company — it was spotless, fully functional, came with clean amenities, free early pick up, and didn’t come with a side quest involving hazardous waste. Meanwhile, we were out here playing sewage roulette and dealing with a customer service experience that felt more like a prank show than a business. Returning the RV was just as awful. They tried to charge us for the septic tank even though we emptied it ourselves — you know, the same tank that was full of crap when we picked it up. They also tried to charge us for the linens we had returned, cleaned and folded, because apparently the only consistent thing about this place is their ability to scam. I will never rent from Honest RV Rentals again, and if you value your time, money, or sanity, you won’t either. This wasn’t just a bad rental, it was an actual health hazard — wrapped in lies, delivered late, and covered in crap. Literally. The only thing "honest" about Honest RV Rentals is how Honestly horrible it was.
Perfect for what we needed to have a fun weekend at King of the Hammers!
