Available Nov 13–15 · 2 nights4 sites open for every nightA forested campground near trout fishing, and hiking.
The campground is well placed for hikers and anglers: maintained trails in Great Smoky Mountains National Park radiate outward from this part of the park, and the Appalachian Trail lies roughly three miles away via the Lower Gap route for those wanting a longer day out. Cold mountain streams around Cosby hold trout, and the nearby Pigeon River is a local center for whitewater rafting; wildlife viewing and cultural-history outings are other common pursuits in the park and visitors should be aware the park supports a large black bear population, so food storage and bear-aware practices are necessary.

“Great campground! The Marine campground host was a bit rude, but we didn’t see him too often. Copper head spotted at the dishwashing sink on the first night. The location is beautiful and seems under utilized. Tons of great hammock spots at all the group sites. We loved it!”
“The rangers were very accommodating and friendly. The facility was beautiful, and we were even surprised by a Friday evening bluegrass concert at the amphitheater by a local bluegrass band.”
