5-mile-long lake at about 800 feet elevation, tucked against a patch of muskeg and inlet stream on south-central Baranof Island, about 35 air miles southeast of Sitka. The A-frame cabin is reached only by floatplane roughly a 30 35 minute trip from Sitka, weather permitting and helicopter access is prohibited because the cabin lies inside the South Baranof Wilderness Area.
