Camping at Dairy Springs

Public campground · 30 campsites · 2 group

A forested campground near fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

Recreation at Dairy Springs revolves around the seasonal presence of Mormon Lake: when the lake is filled you can fish, launch small boats or windsurf, and find good waterfowl and shorebird viewing, while most other activities are available year-round. Three trailheads start at Dairy Springs (with a fourth at nearby Double Springs), leading to overlooks of the lake, prairie, forest and volcanic features; the area also supports strong populations of elk and mule deer and is a reliable place to see hawks such as northern harriers and ospreys.

“Great quiet campground, host was very friendly and present. We love it there. ”

Neil M 5 · Oct 2025 · Recreation.gov

“The host was great. The camp sites and bathrooms were clean. Only complaint is how close the camp sites are to each other. Our neighbors were really loud in the middle of the night. ”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (5,155 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
