Camping at Tunnel Mills Ii near Camptonville

Public campground · Camptonville · 2 campsites · 2 group

A forested campground near trout fishing, hiking, and mountain biking.

About this campground

Tunnel Mills II sits beside the East Fork of the North Fork of the North Fork American River in the Tahoe National Forest, a relatively remote stretch of north-central California reached from I-80 at the Emigrant Gap exit via Texas Hill Road (about an 8-mile drive south from the freeway). The campground is shaded by cedar, pine and fir and sits close enough to the creek-sized river that anglers often set up at the water's edge for rainbow trout.

“It was a great experience, quiet. far away from the other Camp ground. Bathroom were near. The only bad thing was that there was no running water ”
