Available Nov 13–15 · 2 nights1 site open for every nightA forested campground near fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.
Fowlers Campground sits along the Upper McCloud River about five miles east of the town of McCloud on the east slope of Mount Shasta, at roughly 3,300 feet elevation. The site is set in a mixed conifer and oak woodland that opens onto riverside views and a trailhead that leads downstream to the three tiers of McCloud Falls; expect about a three-mile round trip if you follow the river trail to see all three falls, which range roughly 15 to 50 feet in height.

Length limits vary by campsite.

“We always enjoy going to Fowler’s Campground! We had great weather and enjoyed the falls. ”
“Sites are relatively spread out which is nice. Great access to the creek and hiking trails! Everything seemed to be in good shape and well maintained. ”
“There was a no water. We came with our RV dry, had to re-hook up, drive 10 miles to the Ranger station for water.. There was nothing on recreation.gov. Indicating that they shut off the water for the season. ”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.
Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (11,839 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
