Camping at Hornswoggle Group Campground near Nevada City

Public campground · Nevada City · 6 campsites · 6 group

A forested campground near fishing, hiking, and mountain biking.

About this campground

Hornswoggle Group Campground sits on the forested shores above Bullards Bar Reservoir in Tahoe National Forest at about 2,000 feet elevation, roughly a 20 25 minute drive north from Nevada City via Highway 49 and Marysville Road. The reservoir itself stretches over 16 miles with more than 60 miles of shoreline and a surface area of 4,760 acres, and the steep, wooded banks of conifer and hardwoods mean most campsites are shaded and set into a natural, canyon-like landscape.

“Great site, very large, room for a big group. Too bad there was a dog next door that barked non-stop. Please leave your barking dogs at home.”
