Camping at Emigrant Group near Verdi

Public campground · Verdi · 4 campsites · 4 group

A forested campground near trout fishing, hiking, and mountain biking.

About this campground

Emigrant Group sits on the south shore of Stampede Reservoir where the Little Truckee River widens into a long, boat-friendly lake framed by stands of ponderosa and Jeffrey pine and fir. The reservoir is the campground's main draw: anglers come for rainbow and brown trout and kokanee salmon, and the water is used for boating, water skiing and swimming; a public boat ramp sits about a half-mile away.

“Plenty of room for our group. Site was clean when we arrived. We're planning to rent again. ”

Ronald W 4 · Sep 2025 · Recreation.gov

“We LOVE camping at Stampede Reservoir! The group sites are large enough to accommodate our family, with plenty of room to spread out. Lots of picnic tables, a built in fire pit and bathrooms close by. It's perfect for us!”
