Available Nov 13–15 · 2 nights1 site open for every nightA forested campground near hiking, and mountain biking. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.
At 10,500 feet in the San Isabel National Forest, Blue Lake Campground sits among aspen and spruce with broad views of the Culebra Range, offering a clear high-country Colorado feel. The site is reached from Colorado Highway 12 south of Cuchara via Forest Service Road 422, about 4 miles in; FSR 436 crosses the road nearby, a rough jeep track that leads up toward Trinchera Peak where bighorn sheep are often seen.

Length limits vary by campsite.

“Simply incredible site with plenty of access to so many adventures. Facilities were flawless and the host Scott was beyond helpful and on point.”
“High altitude, mostly open area camping. Somewhat level sites. Windy. Not sure why the area looked like a tornado went through with many trees toppled over. Amenities are fine but note the lake is not immediately adjacent to the campground. ”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.
Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (944 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
