Available Nov 13–15 · 2 nights2 sites open for every nightA forested campground near trout fishing, and hiking. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.
Aspen Campground sits at about 9,900 feet along Jefferson Creek, a few miles downstream from Jefferson Lake (which itself sits near 10,685 feet and is ringed by steep 12,000-foot peaks). The single-loop campground is shaded by groves of aspen and mature spruce, and offers close access to two prominent trail systems: the Colorado Trail a 471-mile route crossing the state from Denver to Durango and the West Jefferson Loop Trail, an 11-mile footpath that climbs toward the Continental Divide.

Length limits vary by campsite.

“Very nice and quiet campground. Toilets are very clean. The host Billy did great job to maintain the campground. We need more hosts like Billy!”
“Campground was beautiful and very well maintained. Each site had plenty of space, and reasonable privacy. Only complaint is the lack of bear boxes; there was 1 for every 2-3 sites. ”
“The biggest problem was the restrooms were really bad. Pretty sure they had not been cleaned in over a week.”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.
Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (3,751 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
