Available Nov 13–15 · 2 nights10 sites open for every nightA forested campground near trout fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.
Ansel Watrous Campground sits on the banks of the Cache la Poudre River along Highway 14 northwest of Fort Collins, where stands of Ponderosa pine give way to a canyon mix of dense forest and open meadow beneath steep mountain slopes. The river is the defining feature here: sections nearby are used for whitewater rafting while quieter stretches hold brown, cutthroat and rainbow trout for anglers.

Length limits vary by campsite.

“Was clean and enjoyable. The only issue we had were the semis on the road using their Jake breaks at 2 AM but other than that everything was clean and well kept ”
“The actual site was the best campsite I've ever used. Great location. Everything was clean and things went well. The only issue is when I arrived someone else was trying to squat on my site. I had to tell them I reserved the site and they politely left.”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.
Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (9,502 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
