Available Nov 13–15 · 2 nights1 site open for every nightA forested campground near trout fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.
Outdoor opportunities concentrate both immediately around the campground and across the wider White River National Forest. The headwaters of the Eagle River are nearby, and anglers will find trout-filled pockets of river as well as several ponds just south of the campground for casting rainbow and brown trout; the Colorado Trail also crosses within easy walking distance and the gravel roads through the valley make good low-traffic routes for walking and bike riding.

Length limits vary by campsite.

“Very high altitude. Stunningly beautiful and peaceful. Fun to ride a bike on old Camp Hale roads, interesting history. ”
“You can tell that the facilities have been upgraded some--newer picnic tables and fire pits at some of the sites. As well as bear safes. Clean pit toilets. Great location and i really enjoy smaller campgrounds like this one-the sites are fairly large. ”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.
Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (5,762 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
