Camping at Angel of Shavano Group near Salida

Angel of Shavano Group Campground sits at about 9,200 feet along the North Fork South Arkansas River in a mixed aspen-and-pine landscape where beaver ponds dot the valley floor and, in winter, snow on nearby Shavano Mountain famously forms an angel-like image. The site is a single group campsite the reservation system recognizes one group facility and is best suited to tent camping but can accommodate small RVs; it is rated to host up to 100 people and 12 14 vehicles, though parking is not available for large RVs.
