Available Nov 13–15 · 2 nights6 sites open for every nightA forested campground near trout fishing, and hiking. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.
Recreation centers on Vallecito Reservoir and the surrounding San Juan National Forest: anglers come for German brown, cutthroat, rainbow and kokanee trout as well as northern pike, while boats, water-skiing and paddlecraft are common; a sheltered boating area and an open play area lie just south of the campground. Trails for day hikes and horseback rides arc out of the area the North Canyon Trail winds through ponderosa and aspen and has a short side spur to a lake overlook, and the East Creek Trail leads into a quieter drainage where brook trout are sometimes found.

Length limits vary by campsite.

“Overall, the campground was excellent. The hosts were amazing. Faculties were kept very clean. This was our first time at this campground and most likely will book here again.”
“One of the best managed campgrounds we've stayed at - kudus to the camp hosts! The vault toilets were exceptionally clean. Many sites are shaded and have lake views. The graveled access road in from the highway did not have much washboard. There are several nice hikes close by. ”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.
Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (4,654 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
