Camping at Camp Dick near Morrison

Public campground · Morrison · 20 campsites

A forested campground near trout fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

The setting is a glacial valley of mixed conifer and aspen with an open meadow opening onto the creekbank, and that landscape shapes the recreation here: Middle Saint Vrain Creek is a reliable fly-fishing stream where anglers try for rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout, and a network of trails radiates out from the campground. Hikers and mountain bikers can access Sourdough and the Buchanan Pass Trail (bikers are allowed on the first five miles of Buchanan Pass), and popular loop rides run from Camp Dick or nearby Peaceful Valley via Buchanan Pass Trail and Middle Saint Vrain Road or via Coney Cutoff, Coney Creek Road and Sourdough Trail.

“Great fly fishing. Cycling and walking trails in and around campground. Unfortunately, water was not available in early August. Road very rough/damaged into campground. Speedbumps seem unnecessary.”

“Absolutely incredible campsite, feels very private up against the woods. No cell service at all. ”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (9,895 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
