Camping at Holiday (Georgia) near Lagrange

Public campground · Lagrange · 111 campsites · 2 group

A forested campground near fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

The larger West Point Lake system supplies most of the recreational draw: more than 40 square miles of water and some 525 miles of shoreline support boating, water sports, fishing, hiking, horseback riding and wildlife viewing. Anglers will find largemouth bass, catfish, crappie and bream throughout the lake; bank fishing is especially good at public piers in nearby Hardley Creek, Rocky Point and McGee Bridge parks, and those piers include access for persons with disabilities Hardley Creek also has a small pond set aside where preteens and visitors with disabilities can fish.

“Bathrooms need renovating badly everything else was great camp host were awesome.”

Darrell G 4 · Sep 2025 · Recreation.gov

“Always enjoy camping at Holiday. Gate attendants were great. Water was down more than usual in Late August, because of work to be done on the dam. So did not give 5 star.”

DARBY H 4 · Sep 2025 · Recreation.gov

“Camp ground was nice, facilities were nicely laid out, park rangers were very helpful and nice.”

For June weekends, book about 116 days ahead. Three in four June Friday and Saturday arrivals were booked later than that, and half were booked 34 days or less before arrival. Past timing is guidance, not a guarantee of what is open now.

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (33,387 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
