Camping at Morgan Bar Campground near Salmon

Morgan Bar Campground sits on the west bank of the Salmon River just north of Salmon, Idaho, where you get a clear eastern view of the Beaverhead Mountains and a sense of the region's working landscape the site was once homesteaded by the Morgan family and still shows a remnant orchard. A short trail loops around a wetland pond and follows nearly a mile of riverfront, concentrating birdlife and offering regular sightings of elk, deer and other large mammals in the surrounding foothills; rock cliffs to the west are known nesting spots for Canada geese.
