Camping at Trap Creek Campground

Public campground · 1 campsite · 1 group

A forested campground near trout fishing, hiking, and mountain biking.

About this campground

Trap Creek Campground sits at 6,670 feet on the lower slopes of the Sawtooth Range, where a mixed stand of pines shades a small valley and summer wildflowers sweep the meadow edges. The Forest Service lists this site as having 1 total campsite, configured to accommodate both RVs and tents; historically the location functions as one group-site complex made up of three smaller spurs, and when the group site is not reserved the individual spurs have been used on a first-come, first-served basis.

“The campsite was well maintained and the restroom was clean. Beautiful setting for a group site that is convenient to the Iron Creek Trailhead and the Sawtooth Mountains. ”

“It was really nice to have a campground all to ourselves. The only downside was road traffic noise, but that died down during the night.”

Dee G 4 · Sep 2023 · Recreation.gov

“Our group had a nice time at Trap Creek campground. The area was spacious, and well equipped (i.e., outhouse and water). The views were outstanding and the wildlife quite abundant. ”
