Camping at Forrest W. Bo Wood near Shelbyville

Public campground · Shelbyville · 135 campsites

A forested campground near fishing. RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

Boating and fishing are the central draws: a campground boat ramp and year-round lake access make it straightforward to put a craft on Lake Shelbyville, which supports catfish, crappie, largemouth bass, muskie, walleye, white bass and bluegill, plus several farmed fishing ponds around the lake for anglers without boats. Beyond the shoreline, the wider Lake Shelbyville area offers beaches, picnic areas, trails, a visitor center, environmental education programs, horseback riding, winter recreation and wildlife viewing; hunting areas are a short drive away and nearby attractions include Wolf Creek State Park, Woods Lake Waterfowl Refuge, Okaw Bluff Wetlands Complex and Eagle Creek Resort with its lodge and 18-hole golf course.

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (40,576 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
