Whitehall Bay Campground sits on the shores of Fall River Lake in Greenwood County, Kansas, surrounded by rolling prairie and tree-dotted valleys rimmed by limestone-capped ridges. The lake itself follows the Fall River for about 15 miles, and the broader Fall River Game Management Area and an 8,000-acre wildlife area are immediate neighbors, so wildlife watching is a major draw: prairie chickens, waterfowl, wild turkeys, white-tailed deer, quail, doves and rabbits are commonly seen, and the area protects more than 400 species of birds.

Length limits vary by campsite.

“Quiet beautiful campground. Our site#11 was large and a great combination of sun and shade. It is obvious that the COE employees have been working in the campground removing dead trees. The water level was high and the beach somewhat non-existent. ”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.
Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (2,844 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
