Bloomington East sits on the west side of Clinton Lake between the Rock Creek and Wakarusa River arms, where steep bluffs and wooded shoreline give way to open water that stretches roughly eight miles up the Wakarusa Valley and covers about 7,000 surface acres. The park area is active year-round: a large sandy Bloomington Beach is the main summer swim spot (day-use fees apply to non-campers from May 1 Sept 30), and three nearby boat ramps (#5, 6 and 7) put you on the water quickly for boating, canoeing, jet-skiing and fishing the lake is known for crappie, walleye, channel catfish and white bass.

“Great campground. Lots of space, clean restrooms, laundry, and disc golf. ”
“We truly enjoyed our visit this year. From the twice daily migration of the geese to the herd of deer on the final day. The guests seemed to be well behaved and actually quiet at night. Such a beautiful setting with a view of the distant lake. ”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.
Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (47,432 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
