Arrow Rock Campground sits on the shore of Melvern Lake at the eastern edge of Kansas's Flint Hills, where the last expanses of tallgrass prairie big bluestem, switchgrass and Indian grass roll toward the water. The broader Melvern Lake area covers roughly 7,000 acres of water and 18,000 acres of public land, and Arrow Rock gives you immediate access to that variety: a 4-mile Tallgrass Heritage Trail begins in the campground, and the lake itself is set up for boating, swimming and a wide range of water sports.

Length limits vary by campsite.
Some sites have no hookups.

“Great campground. Campsites 1,2 could be repaired and leveled. The host very friendly and take care of everybody. ”
“Better for a van or camper rather than tent to be honest. Access to cove is the best draw, however not much shade. Be careful of people walking through your campsite to access the cove however. ”
“Flat area for tents has no shade, shade is available close to gravel parking area. ”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.
Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (5,499 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
33 individual reservable campsites from Recreation.gov, checked Nov 7. Rates are the listed nightly rates.
