Turkey Point sits on the eastern edge of the Flint Hills where the tallgrass prairie meets Melvern Lake's wide sweep of water. The lake itself covers nearly 7,000 acres and the surrounding public lands add roughly 18,000 acres of rolling prairie and wooded hills, so there's room for boaters, anglers, hikers and hunters to spread out.

Length limits vary by campsite.

“Best restroom facility around. Always clean. We wish that the campsite driveways had a better seal. The little rocks make a mess in our camper”
“This trip the campground was kept up way better than it has been in previous years. The hosts checked with us to see if we needed anything.”
“Clean bath and showers. Grass mowed. Quiet”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.
Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (9,612 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
