Lucas Park sits on the north shore of Wilson Lake, where clear blue water stretches across the Smoky Hills of north-central Kansas a landscape of rolling hills, buttes and mixed-grass prairie known locally as Post Rock Country for its limestone fenceposts and buildings. Boating dominates here: there's plenty of room for water skiing, wakeboarding, jet skiing and sailing off the park's ramps, and anglers find a diverse fishery thanks to state stocking programs.

“We love Lucas Park. The water is so clear and easily accessible. The facilities are kept so nice. The bathrooms and showers are exceptionally clean. The hosts are a delight and we enjoy our short visit with them.”
“Beautiful lake. Beatiful campground - our area is set up so that all camp sites have a view of the lake. Lots of walking, hiking options with beautiful views. Did I already say this place was beautiful? Absolutely the best place we have ever camped! ”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.
Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (16,075 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
