Trace Branch Campground sits along the shore of Buckhorn Lake in eastern Kentucky's Cumberland Plateau, a landscape cut by narrow, winding valleys and a braided network of streams fed by the Kentucky River. From Lexington it's a drive of roughly 80 90 miles south and east via I-75 and the Daniel Boone Parkway toward the Hyden/Thousandsticks area; locally the campground is reached from KY-257 and Mosley Bend Road near the Confluence bridge.

“The camp host was beyond friendly and accommodating! The facilities were clean and well maintained. We will definitely be going back to Trace Branch campground ”
“Nice quiet and beautiful place. Hosts are very friendly and helpful ”
“Thus place was a great place to stay, especially if you like kayking and fishing. Make sure you don't follow google maps, it will lead you down a 1 lane road and we had to back our trailer up for nearly 1/2 mile. But the campground was definitely worth the trip.”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.
Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (2,418 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
