Camping at Holmes Bend near Columbia

Public campground · Columbia · 123 campsites

A forested campground near fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

Holmes Bend Campground sits on the Highland Rim along the forested, rolling shores of Green River Lake, where 8,000 surface acres of water carve shallow coves and long fingers into the surrounding landscape. The campground is a good base for water-centered outings: the lake supports boating, jet skiing, wakeboarding and other water sports from ten public boat ramps and three full-service marinas clustered around the shoreline, and anglers can expect walleye, crappie, white bass, channel catfish, muskie and bluegill in season.

“Had a pretty good visit. We were only there as a base camp. We spent most of our time seeing sites in the area. There was 1 rest room/shower area closed down with no explanation. the area was fairly quite during our stay.”

Charles B 4 · Oct 2025 · Recreation.gov

“Love the campground. Only wish the rangers were more interactive , especially with the kids. A smile and friendly personality would go along way in their positions. ”

Doug W 4 · Oct 2025 · Recreation.gov

“Our family had a great time. They campground is very clean, well maintained, and quiet. Very convenient to the lake.”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (24,518 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
