Widewaters Campground sits in a quiet band of mature hardwoods on Michigan's Upper Peninsula, roughly a 16-mile drive from Munising along Forest Highway 13 and a short spur on Forest Road 2262. The site occupies forested land between Lake Superior and Lake Michigan, immediately between Irwin Lake and the Indian River, so water is always close at hand anglers and paddlers find brook trout and small lakes to explore, and canoeing or kayaking on the river is a common way to spend an afternoon.

Length limits vary by campsite.

“New hosts were very nice. Bathrooms very clean. We love Widewaters Campground! We were disappointed to find out it’s closing so soon this year. Fall is our favorite time to camp ☹️”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.
Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (2,381 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
