Camping at Stony Point near Walker

Public campground · Walker · 43 campsites

A forested campground near fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

Stony Point sits on the grassy banks of Leech Lake, about 14 miles east of Walker, Minnesota, where open lakeshore meets an old-growth stand of oak, elm, maple and ash some trees here are more than 200 years old. Leech Lake itself covers more than 112,000 acres with nearly 200 miles of shoreline, and the campground's location makes boating, canoeing and fishing the primary draws: a boat ramp and dock are located inside the campground, and anglers commonly target walleye, perch, bass, northern pike and muskie.

“Site 21, close to protected harbor, very private. Site was clean and maintained other than fire pits needed to be emptied. Always enjoy our stay at Stony Point.”

Kerry A 5 · Aug 2025 · Recreation.gov

“This is always a great stay for us. The resort itself is always clean and staff are friendly. There are many access points on the lake, great restaurants and shops near by. It's a summer-must for us every year since our first trip 5 years ago.”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (9,010 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
