Camping at Ruark Bluff East near Greenfield

Public campground · Greenfield · 77 campsites · 2 group

A forested campground near fishing, and hiking. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

Recreation at Stockton Lake is wide-ranging: boating and sailing are popular (the lake hosts several sailboat races each year), fishing for species such as small- and largemouth bass, crappie, white bass, walleye, catfish and sunfish is good from shore or boat, and trails around the shoreline support hiking and access to a 15-mile Stockton Lake Equestrian Trail that links Hawker Point and Orleans Trail campgrounds for riders. Several full-service marinas around the lake supply gas, groceries and tackle for longer trips.

“Spots are nice and not crammed together. Beautiful views of the lake! The other campers are respectful and quiet. We loved our stay. They do need to fix a door in the women’s shower so that it shuts. It’s been that way for over a year. ”

Debi O 4 · Oct 2025 · Recreation.gov

“Great view of lake and access to bath rooms and showers. Plenty of space between sites. Saw an Eagle catching a fish right where we were camping. Lovely time!”

Merita B 5 · Oct 2025 · Recreation.gov

“very nice campground on fishing and sailing lake - not too busy as some lakes are”

How far ahead to book Ruark Bluff East

For July weekends, book about 127 days ahead. Three in four July Friday and Saturday arrivals were booked later than that, and half were booked 20 days or less before arrival. Past timing is guidance, not a guarantee of what is open now.

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (16,293 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
