Camping at Spring Hill Campground near West Of Anaconda

Public campground · West Of Anaconda · 9 campsites

A forested campground near trout fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

Spring Hill Campground sits among a stand of Lodgepole pines in the Pintler Ranger District of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, in southwestern Montana. The site is roughly eight miles from Georgetown Lake and reached by traveling about 11 miles west of Anaconda on State Highway 1, so the feel is compact and mountain-forested rather than remote high plateau.

“Friendly camp host. Really close to the outhouse style bathroom. We didn't have electricity so we drove into town and had pizza at the Tap Room. The people were great. Overall a really nice experience.”

Alyssa J 4 · Aug 2025 · Recreation.gov

“Clean bathrooms. Quiet campsites. A little bit of road noise but I was in a site that was close to the entrance (#4). It was nice to get off the main highway. ”

How far ahead to book Spring Hill Campground

For July weekends, book about 132 days ahead. Three in four July Friday and Saturday arrivals were booked later than that, and half were booked 87 days or less before arrival. Past timing is guidance, not a guarantee of what is open now.

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (1,269 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
