Available Nov 13–15 · 2 nights9 sites open for every nightA forested campground near fishing, and hiking. Most campsites have no hookups.
The river access here supports canoeing, kayaking and fishing powerboats are allowed on the Newport River but the boat launch at Oyster Point is a small hand-launch with no vehicle access, so expect to carry craft or use a cart/dolly. Oyster Point is also a trailhead for the 21-mile Neusiok Trail and sits along waterways connected to the Croatan Saltwater Trail, making it a good base for paddling long stretches between sound and river.

Length limits vary by campsite.

“It was great camping in the rain. It was so relaxing; the host was kind and willing to help in every way to make your stay worthwhile and make you want to come back. ”
“Way too far from the festival. I stayed only on Friday. I'll stay in a hotel closer to the festival next time. Too bad Atlantic Beach does not have actual campgrounds. ”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.
Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (3,625 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
