Camping at White Ledge Campground

Public campground · 13 campsites

A forested campground near trout fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

The campground is a short drive from an immense variety of outdoor opportunities: hiking trails and rock-climbing routes, scenic overlooks, and rivers and streams where anglers pursue stocked and wild trout. Within a broader day-trip radius you'll find the Kancamagus Highway for scenic driving, the Presidential Range (including 6,288-foot Mount Washington) and roughly 1,200 miles of trails in the forest about 160 miles of which are part of the Appalachian Trail.

Quiet, wooded sites · 2 reviews

“We had a site a little under the trees and had to scooch out a bit from so that the Starlink would get a decent signal.”

“Nice campground. Sites are mostly wooded and all have a fire ring and picnic table. I would’ve given it a higher rating but we had several items stolen from our campsite during the day while hiking. (Chairs, hammock, light.) Beware. ”

How far ahead to book White Ledge Campground

For July weekends, book about 60 days ahead. Three in four July Friday and Saturday arrivals were booked later than that, and half were booked 28 days or less before arrival. Past timing is guidance, not a guarantee of what is open now.

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (2,138 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
