Camping at Crane Prairie Campground near Bend

Public campground · Bend · 123 campsites · 1 group

A forested campground near trout fishing, and hiking. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

Recreation centers on the reservoir boating, fishing and swimming are the obvious draws, and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife manages trout, mountain whitefish, brook trout and largemouth bass in these waters. Hikers, hunters and wildlife viewers will find the surrounding forest lively with waterfowl (including sandhill cranes), ospreys, bald eagles and songbirds, and mammals such as deer, beaver and the occasional black bear.

“The spot was great. The people next to us were rude and ran their generator 24/7. ”

Grace P 3 · Oct 2025 · Recreation.gov

“It was a good stay, especially with only about a half dozen campers there. However, when they advertise having drinking water, they had the water system turned off. Fortunately, I had brought some water and didn't come empty as I sometimes do. There was no warning of no water. ”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (12,556 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
