No sites offered for these datesA forested campground near trout fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.
Recreation at Little Lava Lake centers on water and trail access: the 130-acre lake reaches about 20 feet at its deepest and supports planted rainbow trout, some brook trout, and established populations of whitefish and tui chub, with bait, lures, flies, still-fishing and trolling all allowed. Paddling and swimming are straightforward off the shore or from small boats launched at the ramp; short shoreline walks and longer hikes into the surrounding Deschutes National Forest are options for those wanting to explore beyond camp.

Length limits vary by campsite.

“Our campsite was very clean and restroom was well stocked. The location was very convenient to the lake and being so close to the Deschutes River made it even better.”
“Campsite was large and good space from neighboring sites. Fire restrictions allowed for campfire, plenty of available slash near enough to get wood from. River access to take vessels onto the lake. Fantastic. ”
“Beautiful spot with modest but well maintained facilities. Wish I had a kayak with me because that would have been perfect ”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.
Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (3,453 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
