The lake itself is the focal point for activities boating, fishing and swimming are all readily accessible from camp while the Summit Lake Trail offers hikers and mountain bikers a route with clear views across Crescent Lake to Diamond Peak; in winter the whole area transforms for skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling, with Crescent Lake Snowpark serving as a winter base and the Summit Lake Trail open to snowmobiles. Wildlife sightings commonly include deer, native fish and a variety of migratory birds, and the campground places you within reach of the broader Deschutes National Forest network thousands of miles of trails, wilderness areas and the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway plus regional attractions such as the Lava Lands Visitor Center and Newberry National Volcanic Monument.

Length limits vary by campsite.

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.
Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (3,268 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
