Camping at Spring near Crescent

Public campground · Crescent · 61 campsites · 1 group

A forested campground near trout fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

Activity options at Spring and on Crescent Lake span seasons: summer and early fall are best for boating, swimming, hiking, biking and fishing anglers chase kokanee salmon, mackinaw, rainbow and brown trout, and mountain whitefish while winter brings skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling with the Crescent Lake Snowpark serving as a base for outings. The Summit Lake Trail (about 9 miles one-way) follows the access road from Crescent Lake and rewards hikers with broad views across the lake and toward Diamond Peak.

“Crescent lake is our favorite. Also loved this campground so close to good swimming spots. ”

“Cool spot, close to the lake. Bathrooms were clean & everyone was friendly. My only complaint is the mosquitoes. Come prepared.”

pedro m 3 · Aug 2025 · Recreation.gov

“We stayed Monday - Thursday and it was quiet and relaxing. We did some paddleboarding on the Lake and enjoyed the sunshine. You have to try the Broasted Chicken at Manley's Tavern - it's the best! ”

How far ahead to book Spring

For July weekends, book about 179 days ahead. Three in four July Friday and Saturday arrivals were booked later than that, and half were booked 136 days or less before arrival. Past timing is guidance, not a guarantee of what is open now.

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (7,507 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
