The lake itself is small and intimate: Haystack Reservoir offers roughly 233 acres of water with 5 miles of shoreline and a surrounding 271 acres of public land created as part of the Deschutes Project. Anglers will find largemouth bass, crappie, rainbow and brown trout, kokanee and brown bullhead; two boat ramps on the east and west shores make launching small motorboats, canoes and kayaks straightforward.
