The campground's defining feature is its immediate relationship to the Wild & Scenic North Umpqua River river access is within a short walk, and a public raft launch sits directly across the highway making Bogus Creek a convenient base for fly fishing, whitewater rafting and river-focused wildlife watching; the North Umpqua is well known locally for salmon and steelhead runs and for regular bald eagle sightings.
