Recreation centers on the Nestucca River anglers can fish for steelhead and salmon during open seasons and nearby trailheads give access to Niagara and Pheasant Creek Falls as well as Clarence Creek Falls for day hikes and waterfall viewing. The campground is located along the Nestucca Country Scenic Byway and is reached via Upper Nestucca River Road about 16 miles east of Beaver; because it lies within Siuslaw National Forest, the broader area supports activities such as hiking, wildlife viewing, boating and other water sports, picnicking, and equestrian or OHV opportunities in designated areas.

“One of the best camp spots towards the coast range. Lot's of space for all sorts of activities and being so close to the river was a added bonus.”
“Reserve for privacy and your own group/family, but you always have randos stop and walk around the gate, and right into campsites. Maybe like stores now, you could install coded lock on restroom? Signs don't seem to matter. ”
