A forested campground near fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.
The primary reason most people come is the sand: the campground functions as a staging area for off-highway vehicle riding across nearly 1,100 acres of coastal dunes, and the layout reflects that focus with wide vehicle aprons and easy access to groomed riding areas. Beyond ORV use, the nearby Sand Lake Estuary and surrounding forest offer a wider range of activities fishing, crabbing, swimming, kayaking, hiking and wildlife viewing are all available within the recreation area, and waterfowl are common in the estuary's near-natural wetlands.
