“We enjoyed our stay at this campground. We saw and heard lots of wildlife. ”

Jennifer R 5 · Sep 2025 · Recreation.gov

“Loved the availability of electricity! Such a lovely place to hike and recreate. Might be good to let people know that noise from the ski resort garage was heard regularly, but no other complaints. ”

Karen H 5 · Sep 2025 · Recreation.gov

“ Neighbors across the road played their music (complete with speakers that measured 1' X 3') until 11. I was not a fan. I came to GO TO THE WOODS, to nature. Not a fan of being around ppl who intrude on the quiet of nature by bringing their city cr*p with them. ”

How far ahead to book Mud Lake Campground

For July weekends, book about 162 days ahead. Three in four July Friday and Saturday arrivals were booked later than that, and half were booked 83 days or less before arrival. Past timing is guidance, not a guarantee of what is open now.

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (783 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
