Camping at Outflow Camping near Confluence

Public campground · Confluence · 61 campsites · 2 group

A forested campground near trout fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

Outflow Camping sits along the lower reaches of Youghiogheny River Lake in the Laurel Highlands, straddling the Mason Dixon line between Pennsylvania and Maryland and reached from Route 281 just outside the small town of Confluence. The lake itself stretches about 16 miles and opens into channels up to a half-mile wide, which is why powerboaters and water-skiers favor it in southwestern Pennsylvania; you can launch right from the lake access and spend long runs between fingers of forested shoreline.

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (18,220 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
