Camping at Obey River Park near Monroe

Public campground · Monroe · 118 campsites · 4 group

A forested campground near trout fishing, and mountain biking. RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

Obey River Park sits on the Tennessee side of Dale Hollow Lake, where forested hills give way to long, clear arms of water created by the Obey River and dam. The lake itself covers about 27,700 surface acres and sports roughly 620 miles of shoreline, so whether you come to chase trophy smallmouth bass (Dale Hollow yielded the world record smallmouth) or to fish the rainbow and brown trout in the river below the dam, there is room to spread out.

“Over River park is close to home but is so beautiful. The park is well maintained. Our site was roomy. Only drawback is that the fire pit is close to our canopy. We extended our stay by another night because it was so beautiful. ”

“Emma is beautiful. The people were friendly and we absolutely loved it.”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (31,818 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
