The setting favors outdoor activity: boat launching from Bear Creek gives direct access to Benbrook Lake for water sports and fishing, while the surrounding hills and prairie attract white-tailed deer, hawks, owls, roadrunners and woodpeckers for easy wildlife viewing close to camp. Beyond the immediate campground you'll find the larger Benbrook Lake recreation area that supports picnicking, playgrounds, specialized sport sites and other concession-run recreation, and the lake is an easy drive from southwest Fort Worth close enough that the Cultural & Museum District, Stockyards, Botanical Gardens, zoo and downtown attractions are a practical day trip.
