Camping at Brushy Creek near Jefferson

Public campground · Jefferson · 97 campsites

A forested campground near fishing, and hiking. RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

Brushy Creek Campground sits on the forested shore of Lake O' the Pines in the Ark-La-Tex portion of East Texas' Pineywoods, where long fingers of water push into pine and hardwood flats. The lake itself covers about 18,700 acres of water and another roughly 9,000 acres of land across five counties Marion, Harrison, Upshur, Morris and Camp and was formed by Ferrell's Bridge Dam on the Big Cypress Bayou as part of regional flood-control works.

“Always enjoy ourselves at brushy creek. Plenty of room for the boat and anything extra. So beautiful. ”

Jerry C 5 · Oct 2025 · Recreation.gov

“We always love staying at Brushy Creek because the park is beautiful, clean, and has great access to the lake. The check-in and check-out process is always so easy and the staff is always so friendly and helpful. This is our most favorite place to camp!”

Suzanne P 5 · Oct 2025 · Recreation.gov

“Beautiful lake and campsite. Very relaxing. The comfort station could use some TLC but overall a great experience. ”

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (22,812 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
