Public campground · Kopperl · 36 campsites

A forested campground near fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

Kimball Bend Park sits on Whitney Lake along the main channel of the Brazos River in central Texas, where the river moves over stretches of sand and rock and the surrounding rolling hills are dotted with cedar, live oak and post oak. The campground is open year-round and provides a compact but well-served base for both RV and tent campers: there are 36 campsites configured for use by RVs and tents, and sites offer water and electrical hookups with 50-amp service available.

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (9,450 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
