Camping at North Campground (Ut) near Bryce

Public campground · Bryce · 96 campsites

A forested campground near hiking, and mountain biking. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

The park's trail network ranges from short strolls under a mile to strenuous routes up to about 11 miles, and many visitors stitch two or three trails together to explore different viewpoints of the amphitheater, so hiking and photography are natural day activities from this basecamp. The seasonal park shuttle provides curbside access to popular trailheads and viewpoints (the shuttle runs on the park schedule typically mid-April through mid-October, with the busiest service May September and stops at the Visitor Center near the campground entrance).

“The location to Bryce Canyon trails cannot be beat, it is so beautiful. The campground is pleasant, the Camp Hosts and Rangers are friendly and very helpful. Showers would make it perfect. Being levelers, there is a slope to most sites. ”

How far ahead to book North Campground (Ut)

For September weekends, book about 184 days ahead. Three in four September Friday and Saturday arrivals were booked later than that, and half were booked 158 days or less before arrival. Past timing is guidance, not a guarantee of what is open now.

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (45,943 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
