Camping at Flat Canyon near Ephraim,

Public campground · Ephraim, · 11 campsites · 1 group

A forested campground near fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. Most campsites have no hookups, and RV fit varies by site.

About this campground

Recreation is straightforward and focused on the water and trails nearby: a short trail leads directly from the campground down to small Boulger Reservoir, and Electric Lake about a mile away offers boating and fishing opportunities. The surrounding Manti-La Sal National Forest also supports biking, hiking, horseback riding, wildlife viewing and, seasonally, winter sports, OHV use and hunting in designated areas; interpretive programs, cabins or fire-lookouts and a visitor center are features across the forest.

“Great campground, smaller than most we’ve stayed at whilst travelling and it made it so much more fun feeling a little bit more “out in the wild”. Clean toilets (no access to water though). No crowds or noise, just a great spot in nature and a perfect view of the stars. ”

katie g 5 · Aug 2025 · Recreation.gov

“Nice place! Clear view of other campers though. Not too private. Not a lot of sites, Will be shady when new trees get taller. Clean toilets. Pleasant surroundings! Will go back.”

How far ahead to book Flat Canyon

For June weekends, book about 90 days ahead. Three in four June Friday and Saturday arrivals were booked later than that, and half were booked 21 days or less before arrival. Past timing is guidance, not a guarantee of what is open now.

September11 days ahead16 days ahead——

Months with fewer than 30 reservations of that kind are left blank. Sites where nearly every booking was made the day of arrival (pay on arrival) are left out. Closed seasons, windows not yet released for booking, and currently unavailable nights are separate from this history.

Based on Recreation.gov reservations, FY2015–2025 (1,126 reservations in the years scored). Counts reservations made, not nights actually camped: cancellations aren't in the data, and nights a site was closed count as not booked. FY2020–21 (COVID) are left out of the scores.
